Massage Reduces Arthritis Symptoms
Massage Therapy has been well-touted by clients and scientists alike to be an effective tool at managing and easing pain, sore joints and muscles, anxiety, depression, insomnia, high blood pressure, and a vast array of other agonizing symptoms.
According to the Arthritis Foundation, regular massage of muscles and joints can lead to a significant reduction in pain and stiffness for people with arthritis while increasing range of motion, hand grip strength, and overall function of the joints.
It does so, in part, by lowering the body’s production of the stress hormone cortisol and boosting production of serotonin (which can improve mood). Additionally, massage can lower production of the neurotransmitter substance P (often linked to pain), and improve sleep as a result. Massage also positively affects levels of key hormones and white blood cells--even reducing inflammatory cytokines.
In other words, you can feel better, and achieve dramatic improvement in your pain and stiffness. All you have to do is book a soothing, amazing massage!
